Are you currently not where you want to be? Are your clothes tight? Do you feel unfit? Are you comfort eating and unhealthy? It’s horrible when you don’t feel good, when nothing fits and you’re stuck in baggy clothes and leggings. It can be time consuming not getting results. All the effort that goes into thinking about how bad you look and feel, it’s exhausting.
The good news is is that it’s all very scientific, black and white, and once you make some adjustments and tweaks, off you go again back on track and feeling good. Here are The 6 Most Common Reasons Why You’re Not Getting The Results You Want And What To Do About It.
1. You’re always in a cycle of self-sabotage.
You workout, you eat well and after a couple of weeks, and you’ve no idea why, you’re back on the junk food and you’re skipping sessions. Sometimes it’s for another reason, but sometimes it can be self-sabotage, which is really, really common and so many women do it. It can be down to a lack of self worth, low self-esteem, afraid of getting confident (because you’ve learned somewhere that’s bad) or a lack of believe in yourself. My only advice to you if you’re like this is to try and figure out WHY you sabotage so you can start to separate it out from who you are.
You can look at the behaviour rather than just live the behaviour. And once you can look at it rationally, you can start to recognise your triggers. And once you recognise your triggers, sure you’re half way to fixing it. After that you must really dig deep, and break the self-sabotage habit, it being easier this time because you now know why you do it, what makes you do it, what your triggers are and that it’s an actual thing you do.
2. You’re negative.
Ouch that is harsh when you read it like that. I used to be really negative. Negative in the mornings, My God, so negative waking up. Negative and scared of life. Always worried. Always down on myself. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME.
Nothing bad happens if you are positive and enthusiastic, the bad stuff will happen anyway regardless of your mindset! You don’t need permission to be positive, you can just be positive.
Giving out all the time about everything holds you back. Really try to let go of things, do your best to forgive people and you’ll lead a happier more simple life. And when your head is free of silly stuff, you get to think big and you’ve more room for healthy stuff! Last thing, don’t worry if people think thing you’re too confident or too positive, it really doesn’t matter what people think!
You’re eating too much
When you eat too much of the wrong stuff you gain weight. After I had my second child Emily, I gained three stone from comfort eating on the couch after dinner because I was so stressed out. It doesn’t take much. Sugar is lethal.
You don’t do the right type of training
You need to lift weights and do interval training along with core work and steady state cardio to get optimal results.
Your weekends after 3-4 days long.
LOL. We have all done this and we can all fool ourselves but if it’s results you’re after, you need to address this.
You don’t move very much in the day.
Adopting a healthy lifestyle is all about asking yourself ‘How can I move more and be more healthy? Breaks from the desk, walks, active weekends, cycling to the shops, walking the dogs are all great ways to keep active in your life on top of your workouts.
