How to regain your fitness (and super charge your energy!), after having kids (the simplest way that will actually get you terrific results)

Jeez I do not want what happened to me, happen to you. That photo on the right represents to me, at a very low time in my life. Not the lowest, but close to it.

I moved house, and moved the  location of Inspire Fitness, and had Emily all at the same time, (Arthur was 1)  and my stress levels were at an all time high. It wasn’t planned like that, timing fell that way, because of things out of my control.

Because of that, post-natal depression set in. It was an awful time, but I don’t want to dwell on it too much now, because I worked so hard to get out of that place, and it’s now firmly in the past.

Life is great for me now, but I worked my ass off to get to a good place. Most of all, I worked so hard on myself, studying, learning, growing as a person.

But I spent too long over-weight. I fell into the trap of becoming too focused on the food, and that always leads to failure, because you can’t sustain a life like that.

There will be weekends, BBQ’s, nights out, that’ll never stop, and what happens is you go round and round and round and round the merry go round of a little weight loss, a little weight gain, etc etc.

My problem was punishing myself during the day by eating little, and then going home, and literally eating my emotions.

So the diet plans will say ‘OK, so instead, eat this and eat that’ NO, that’s not the answer. The answer is in fixing yourself.

Focusing on your diet, solely, if you’re over-weight, is a surface solution. It’s like putting a temporary bandage on a deep cut, that won’t heal. So you’ll go back to square one.

You’ve got to fix the deep problem, the reason that’s making you over-eat. And this is what helped me lose 3 stone and keep it off.

I started going to bed at 10:30pm

I got up at 7am, and journaled and did affirmations. I wrote down 3 things I was grateful for every day, and I wrote about how I was feeling. Affirmations helped me turn my negative self-talk into slightly better self-talk. (I speak so bad to myself it’s not even funny, really trying to fix this. I’ve improved so much).

I got back into a workout routine that involved interval training and resistance training. (Interval training releases massive amounts of Dopamine (feel good hormone), and boosts your metabolism so big WIN WIN.

I started eating 3 meals and 2 snacks

I drank 2 litres of water

I listened to personal development audio in car for 30 minutes every day.

I read a book before bed, every night for 15 minutes.

I cut out negative people/influences from my life.

I worked hard at seeing the bigger picture every day, and not reacting straight away to things.

I still do all this, and the biggest thing that I feel now, is I feel in control of myself. That’s the most rewarding part. It takes the hardest work, but I love it so much. Feeling in control to how you react to things is amazing. You get to be the bigger person in negative situations, and your kinder to yourself because you give yourself time to think things through. You don’t rush into things as much, including food! 🙂

Hope this helps in some way,  comment below if you’d like to add anything to this
