How To #FEELGOOD This Winter And Finish 2019 Strong, Feeling Terrific In Your Clothes & Walking Tall With Un-Shakeable Self-Confidence

Oh wouldn’t Ireland just be the best place to live in the world if it didn’t get so dark for so many months of the year? I absolutely love Galway but I see every year, around this time, the toll it takes on many of my clients, at the same time.

The change in season has a real effect on many women I know. We see it at the studio every year. The mornings and evenings start to get so dark and rainy, and all of a sudden those early morning/evening walks are harder to get in. It seems more difficult to maintain the fitness you had built up over the Summer. It’s harder to get up . You feel a little bit down and you’re not quite sure why. Things don’t seem as bright and carefree as they were just a month ago. And with you being indoors more, it’s more difficult to consistently #FEELGOOD.

This is a real danger zone if you’re not careful, because if you don’t have a good plan in place over the Winter months, you can backtrack, and get stuck in a vicious cycle of weight gain. The dark nights set in, you start to eat more, usually after dinner, on the couch.

It’s dark outside, you get cosy, pick something on Netflix, and before you know it, you’re eating extra food after dinner, every night of the week, because it feels so comforting. You’ve spent all day eating well, but it’s the evenings that get you. You don’t have a good plan in place, you’ve no fitness goals, you’re feeling de-motivated, it’s so easy to backslide.

You turn to wine, you drink to feel better temporarily, knowing deep down, this is not what you want, and the worst thing you could be doing. It makes everything worse. How you feel, your waistline, your confidence, but you are desperate to temporarily feel good. You survive the day, instead of thriving and enjoying them.

I know this, because I’ve been there.

You stop exercising, eat more rubbish, drink more wine, and spend winter not feeling great. Add to that the stress of more social engagements with November and December coming down the line. You want wiggle room to enjoy yourself, but you’re feeling at your heaviest.

I understand all this, because back when I was three stone overweight, Winter times were the worst. Every bad feeling I had about myself seemed to be a whole lot worse in Winter, when there wasn’t much sun.  I get it, and it’s only because I’ve been through it myself, that I’m able to coach my clients through it.

I’ve done all this, and felt so bad. It ruined my confidence, made me feel bad in my clothes, and I spent most of my winters feeling down, unhappy in my clothes, with my confidence at rock bottom. There is nothing worse then going into December, already feeling heavy. You want to go into December feeling in control, feeling good about yourself.

The great thing is, it doesn’t have to be like this.  You only have to have a good goal, a structured proven plan that works, a few key healthy habits that will keep you on track, and dedicate a small bit of your time during the week, to you.

It’s about making a promise to yourself, that no matter how busy you are, or who you have to take care of, that you put yourself first, only for a small bit of time during the week.  And as women we can be rubbish at this. You spend so much time thinking about everyone else, and not spending enough time on you. But what If I told you it only takes a little planning, some good structure, and a few hours a week, for you to feel brilliant.

Having a good planned-out proven structure, will be critical to you feeling terrific in your clothes, walking tall with un-shakeable self-confidence, and feeling happy and in control among family and friends. Yes, that can happen, and in such a short space of time. Just imagine it, you feeling absolutely brilliant, before 2019 ends, with your health and fitness goals achieved. How would you feel, knowing you did it this year? That would be one big boxed ticked!

There are 5 key steps to transforming your body in record time.

1.Define your goals, motivation and commitment.

2. Evaluate where you are right now.

3. Create a complete program that includes nutrition, training, flexibility, support and accountability.

Make sure the workouts you do are a mixture of cardio and resistance training. Resistance training will build lean muscle and turn you into a calorie burning machine. Cardio will help you burn fat, reduce stress and leave you feeling great. A mix of those two is absolutely critical to fitting great in your clothes, getting loads of energy, and feeling really good. You do not need to do old school boring workouts on gym machines. You never need to look at a treadmill or a cross-trainer ever again. As for fad diets, high protein- low fats, calorie counting, you don’t need any of that. And you can dump the weighing scales too.

4. Take action and implement the program. Taking that first step is absolutely critical, regadless of fear of failure, of fear of anything else. There never, ever is a ‘right time’. Version one is always better than version none.

5. Regularly assess and update your program. This is critical as it will ensure you don’t ‘backslide’ or start to lose momentum. It keeps you going and helps keep you focused on the bigger picture. Being held accountable and supported is one the biggest factors our clients say helped get them where they wanted to be. I can’t emphasise enough the power of being accountable to someone.

If you’re ready, scared but ready, (and remember there is no ‘right time’),  Inspire Fitness is opening it’s doors one last time this year, to take on 12 women onto our 12 Week Winter #FEELGOOD Program.

It’s a complete program, that will leave you feeling terrific in your clothes, walking tall with un-shakeable self-confidence and feeling happy and in control among family and friends. That is my promise to you. And you know what? It’s fun too, with an amazing, supportive, community of super  women, just like you. We’ll take you out of your comfort zone, and take care of you, by holding you accountable and supporting you every step of the way.

We designed it with two goals in mind.

One, to leave you feeling terrific, clothes and confidence wise, pre-Christmas, so this truly is you best year yet.

And two, to get you right back on track, (as you’ll have some of the program left), after a planned Christmas week off, faster than you can say New Years Resolution.

Our 12 Week Winter #FEELGOOD Program sells out fast, and this is this last time we’re taking on any new members for 2019.
