I’m so thrilled to have you here with me today, and I hope you're giving yourself a moment of peace and self-care as you listen. Whether you're sitting in the car enjoying a few moments of quiet, or at home with a hot cup of tea, I hope you're prioritizing yourself and your well-being.

In today’s episode, I want to share something close to my heart: how you can build strength and confidence in just 30 minutes a day.

This is a simple, realistic strategy for anyone feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or struggling with low self-esteem. If you’ve ever felt like you don’t even recognize the person looking back at you in the mirror, this is for you.

My Journey from Rock Bottom to Confidence

I want to start by sharing a bit of my personal story, because I think it’s important to know that you’re not alone in feeling the way you do. I’ve been through some incredibly tough times, where my self-esteem was at rock bottom.

There was a period in my life when I felt utterly lost—so much so that I isolated myself from everyone around me. I had maybe one friend, and even with that person, I was stuck in the habit of people-pleasing, which meant I wasn’t really being true to myself.

I was lonely, disconnected, and didn’t know how to break free from that cycle. If you're in that place right now, please know that I truly understand how difficult it can be.

But here’s the good news: I found a way out of that low point, and you can too. The solution is simpler than you might think. It doesn’t involve hours of work or complicated routines.

You can start feeling better, stronger, and more confident by committing just 30 minutes a day to yourself. This isn’t about adding more stress to your already busy life—it’s about making small, manageable changes that will have a huge impact over time.

Why So Many Women Over 40 Are Stressed

Did you know that more than 80% of women over 40 experience high stress? This statistic, from the American Psychological Association, shows how common it is for women to feel overwhelmed by work, finances, health issues, and, for many, the challenges of menopause. These stressors can combine into a “perfect storm” that makes it incredibly easy to lose yourself.

When life feels like a whirlwind, it’s no wonder that many women start to feel disconnected, unconfident, and stuck. You might feel like you’re drowning in responsibilities, always putting others first, and losing sight of what makes you feel good, strong, and empowered.

But what if I told you that you could start to reclaim your confidence and strength with just 30 minutes a day?

The Myth of "Not Enough Time"

One of the biggest challenges I hear from women is that they feel too overwhelmed or pressed for time to dedicate to themselves. They say things like, “I don’t have an extra 30 minutes,” or “I’m already too busy.”

But here’s the thing: When you carve out a little time just for yourself—30 minutes, three times a week—you’ll actually start to feel more productive, more focused, and less stressed.

It may seem counterintuitive, especially if you’re already feeling like you’re barely keeping your head above water, but taking time to care for yourself helps you show up more effectively in every other area of your life.

The Key to Transformation: Short-Term Sacrifice, Long-Term Gain

Now, I won’t sugarcoat it. When you first start setting aside those 30 minutes a day, it might feel like a struggle. You might have to wake up a little earlier or rearrange your schedule, and at first, it might feel like yet another burden on your shoulders. You might be tired, uncomfortable, or frustrated. But here’s the thing: this is short-term pain for long-term gain.

If you can push through that initial resistance—just for a couple of weeks—you’ll find that it becomes easier, and soon, you’ll start to feel better, stronger, and more confident. That small sacrifice of time and comfort will be well worth it when you begin to experience the transformation that comes with building physical and mental strength.

My 30-Minute Strategy for Building Strength and Confidence

Let’s dive into the practical part of this strategy. I’ve developed a simple, effective routine that focuses on both your body and mind.

It’s what we call “Thrive Time” in my Thrive Coaching Program, and it’s designed to help you feel stronger, more confident, and better equipped to handle the stresses of daily life.

Here’s how it works:

1. Commit to Morning Sessions

- The best time to do this routine is first thing in the morning. Why? Because it sets you up for success. Starting your day with a focus on your physical and mental health will give you the energy and confidence to face whatever challenges come your way. I know mornings can be tough, but trust me, this is a game-changer.

2. 30 Minutes, Three Times a Week

- You don’t need to dedicate hours every day—just 30 minutes, three times a week. This small time commitment can make a world of difference.

3. 20-Minute Full-Body Workout

- Start with a 20-minute workout that engages your whole body. You don’t need a gym membership or fancy equipment—just your body and a little space. The key is to focus on full-body, compound movements that work multiple muscles at once, such as lunges, squats, push-ups, shoulder presses, and step-ups.

  • Interval Training: For maximum impact, try interval training—30 seconds of work followed by 10 seconds of rest. This method is incredibly effective because it boosts your metabolism, improves cardiovascular fitness, and builds strength in a short amount of time.
  • Strength Training: As a woman over 40, strength training is particularly important because it helps build lean muscle, burn fat, and support bone health. Plus, when you build physical strength, you also start to build mental resilience and confidence.
4. 10-Minute Mind Practice

After your workout, spend 10 minutes focusing on your mind. This part is crucial because it helps reinforce the mental strength and confidence you’re building through physical exercise. Here’s what to do:

  • Set Your Intentions: Take a few minutes to write down three things you want to accomplish that day. This helps you stay focused and organized, and over time, it boosts your confidence as you see yourself making progress.
  • Affirmations: Choose an affirmation that counters any limiting beliefs you have about yourself. Say it out loud, with conviction, three times. For example, if you’ve been feeling like you’re not good enough, your affirmation might be, “I am capable and deserving of success.”
  • Journaling: Finish your mind practice with a few minutes of journaling. This can be free-flow writing, or you can jot down your thoughts, plans, or reflections for the day. This process helps you clear your mind, reduce stress, and gain clarity.

Why Morning Routines Matter

I want to emphasize the importance of doing this routine in the morning. When you start your day by focusing on your body and mind, it sets a positive tone for the rest of the day. You’ll feel more energized, more confident, and better able to handle whatever comes your way.

If you wait until the evening, you’ll miss out on these benefits. You might still get the physical workout in, but you won’t have the same mental clarity and sense of accomplishment that comes from starting your day with intention.

Consistency Over Perfection

One of the most important things to remember is that consistency matters more than perfection. You don’t have to do this routine perfectly every single day to see results. Aim for 70-80% consistency, and give yourself grace when life gets in the way.

If you’re not a morning person yet, start small. Maybe you wake up 10 minutes earlier than usual, and gradually work your way to an earlier time. The key is to stay committed and keep pushing forward, even when it feels hard.

The Transformative Power of Thrive Time

I promise you, if you commit to this routine for just one month, you will see a dramatic transformation in how you feel—both physically and mentally.

You’ll start to gain energy, feel stronger and fitter, and develop a calm, organized mindset that will help you handle life’s challenges with grace.

As you build this new routine, you may notice that other areas of your life start to improve as well. You might find that you’re saying “no” to things that don’t serve you, setting better boundaries, or getting more sleep.

It’s all connected, and this 30-minute routine is the catalyst that can set everything in motion.

Start Your Journey Today

If you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of how to move forward, this is your chance to take control. Start with just 30 minutes, three times a week, and see how it changes your life. You’ll feel stronger, more confident, and more capable than you have in a long time.
