8 Positive Habits That Changed My Life

Do you feel very inconsistent? Some days you’re up, others down, and it’s like you’re on a rollercoaster of emotions? Sometimes you feel like you have it all, other times, you feel so down and bad about everything?

I used to be like that, until I made some changes in my life, which has lead me now to live a much more consistently, content life.

How does it feel when you’re not consistent?

Bad! And you tend to be inconsistent in other areas of your life too, when you don’t feel consistent. You stop and start exercise programs, you give up things, only to go back on them with added gusto. You yo-yo, you swing, you’re moody, you feel bad for feeling bad! You feel guilty for not feeling good around family members, maybe being cranky and short fused.

Here’s are 8 positive habits that changed my life and helped me feel more consistent:

Exercise! I exercise all the time, even on holidays. It’ a game changer. Workout, do interval training, resistance training, core work, and then when you’re on holiday, walk, cycle, swim, play golf! Working out keeps you consistently feeling good, not too mention all the other benefits.

Be solution orientated. I can’t emphasis enough how much this will change your life, and you can start this INSTANTLY. Always, always come up with solutions. 5% of your time on problems, 95% of your time on solutions. What can we do to fix this? How can we change this? What should we do differently? How can we solve this problem in front of us?

Be out with nature. I live in the countryside now, and any chance I get I am outside with the birds, the bees and the trees. It has been the single most calming, relaxing force in the my life. Any chance you get, get out there in nature and just breathe. It’s beautiful. The sea, nature walks, forest trails, it’s just so good for the soul.

Journal. Want to achieve some goals? Write them down! Journal them, write them down every day. Your purpose, your why, your what and your how.

Eat healthy for being healthy’s sake: Eat healthy to be healthy. Focus on good nourishing food for your brain and body. Eat well, eat regularly and eat good, nourishing, healthy food. Avoid sugar and junk during the week because it’s bad for you. Ask yourself good questions. How can I feel good? What healthy foods do I love to eat? How can I be healthy?

Say Mantras: Repetition is key. Positive enforcement every week day. Say out loud: I am strong, calm and in control! Say your mantras like you mean it! They settle into your sub-conscious and you start to really feel consistently, strong, calm and in control.

Reading a book before bed: T.V off, phone off, just time for you. 10 pages a night is great to get you started. Fiction or a personal development book depending on your mood.

Bed by 10:30pm, up at 7:30am This simple step helps me live a rich, healthy and fulfilling life. Try it, you will feel consistently good.
