Dress size versus the scales. Which one is more important?

It really surprises me when I watch someone get fit strong, toned and all their clothes start fitting really well, and they’ve never felt better in their life…. and they start complaining. Complaining that they are not at a certain target weight on the scales.

It blows my mind.

Wait, stop, have you seen yourself in the mirror? Can you not see how crazy you are sounding? It actually does my head in. The weight loss industry has fecked everyone up, and now women believe they have to be a certain weight…. I mean why?

What do you think is going to happen when the weighing scales says what you want it to say?  How can you measure that as a sign of your progress??? Muscle weighs more than fat, right? We are all so different in body size, where did you get that ideal number from? BMI? Sure that’s a load of crap too, and doesn’t take into account your body size.

If everyone measured themselves on their dress size, I would be a lot calmer about this issue 🙂

OK so you’ve been a size 12, you gained weight, you’re now a 14. You workout, gain some lovely lean muscle, you look fab, your heart is healthy and low and behold, you get back into a size 12. BOOM. Done.

Or. ‘You’ve always been 10 stone, now you’re 12 stone, and you just can’t ever seem to get back to that 10 stone… So what happens? You waste your life obsessing and looking back to those glory days of when you were 20 years old, and lighter. I mean FFS. You workout, but freak out that it’s not doing anything for your weight, because the scales says so. I mean WTF.

If you want to live a happy, healthy life, get rid of the scales. They are worthless, what they tell you is worthless and they make you feel worthless.
